The City of Henryetta has completed the installation of new state-of-the-art outdoor tornado warning sirens at several locations across the community. The upgrades were made possible through a grant supporting improvements to the city’s emergency warning infrastructure.
The new sirens are now operational at the following locations:
McCutcheon Park, Nichols Park and across from Casey’s on the west side of town.
These rotating outdoor warning sirens help improve coverage across the city and are designed to alert individuals who are outdoors to seek shelter during severe weather events.
The City of Henryetta appreciates the work of city staff involved in coordinating the installation, including City Manager David Bullard, as well as Ward 2 Councilman Vernon VanMeter, who shared updates on the project as installation began.
This improvement is part of the city’s ongoing commitment to public safety and emergency preparedness for residents and visitors.
Residents are reminded that outdoor warning sirens are only one method of receiving severe weather alerts. Individuals should also rely on additional warning systems such as weather radios, smartphone alerts, and local media to stay informed during severe weather.
