HENRYETTA, OK — December 18, 2025 — During the regular meeting of the Henryetta Economic Development Authority (HEDA), city officials shared several updates regarding ongoing infrastructure improvements and new development activity in the community.
David Bullard, City Manager for the City of Henryetta, reported that several key projects are moving forward and contributing to the city’s continued growth and improvement.
Infrastructure Improvements
City officials confirmed that repairs to the local spillway have been completed, and the structure has now fully reopened. The work was part of ongoing efforts to maintain critical infrastructure and ensure long-term safety for the surrounding area. In addition, water tower improvement projects across the city are continuing as scheduled, helping to strengthen Henryetta’s water system capacity and reliability for residents and businesses.
New Hotel Development Planned – One of the most significant announcements during the meeting involved a new hotel development planned for the west side of Henryetta near Interstate 40.
City officials confirmed that developer Ken Patel has received franchise approval to construct a four-story, 66-room hotel in the style of a Holiday Inn Express. The project will be located at the former Hungry Traveler site, a highly visible property on the west end of the community. Surveyors have already been observed working at the site as the early stages of planning move forward.
The proposed hotel represents an estimated $6–8 million private investment in Henryetta. City officials noted that the development is expected to help address the long-recognized shortage of hotel rooms along the Interstate 40 corridor, which serves travelers, business visitors, and guests attending local events.
Preparing for Future Growth
To support the project and continued development on the west side of the city, utility infrastructure improvements are also being planned, including the installation of a future six-inch water line designed to accommodate both the hotel project and additional growth in the area. Members of the Henryetta Economic Development Authority expressed strong optimism about the project, highlighting the economic benefits that additional lodging options can bring to the community, including increased visitor spending and improved accommodations for travelers passing through the region.
City officials noted that projects like this demonstrate continued momentum in economic development and infrastructure improvements throughout Henryetta.
