Mission Statement

The mission of the Henryetta Police Department is to provide professional, ethical, and proactive law enforcement services that ensure a safe and secure environment for all citizens and visitors. We are committed to reducing crime, protecting life and property, and maintaining public trust through community engagement, education, and fair, consistent enforcement of the law. E911 Communications Center

The Henryetta Police Department proudly operates the Southern Okmulgee County E911 Communications Center, serving as a critical lifeline for emergency response within the region. Staffed by highly trained dispatch professionals, the center utilizes advanced communication and dispatch technology to ensure rapid, accurate coordination of police, fire, and emergency medical services. Our communications personnel are committed to providing calm, efficient, and reliable service during both routine calls and critical incidents.

Holding Facility

The department maintains a secure, short-term holding facility designed to house municipal detainees safely and efficiently. The facility has a capacity of five individuals and is utilized for temporary detention prior to transfer or release. All detainees are monitored in accordance with established safety standards and departmental policies to ensure their well-being and the integrity of the facility.

Animal Control Services

The Henryetta Police Department oversees Animal Control operations to protect both the public and local animal population. The Animal Control Officer (ACO) is responsible for responding to calls involving stray, dangerous, or nuisance animals, as well as enforcing local ordinances related to animal welfare and control.

Joey Cantrell

Police Chief – Henryetta PD

Joey Cantrell serves as the Chief of Police for the Henryetta Police Department, bringing over fifteen years of municipal and county law enforcement experience.

He began his career as a patrol officer in 2013 with the City of Henryetta and advanced through the ranks, serving as a Investigator with the City of Henryetta and the District 25 Task Force, Field Training Officer, and former dual-purpose K-9 handler.

Chief Cantrell is an Advanced CLEET-certified peace officer with experience in supervision, investigations, training, and critical incident response. He is committed to ethical leadership, accountability, and building strong community trust through professional policing.
